Every week, we encounter clients with crashed hard drives, corrupted files or deleted presentations. When we ask, “When was your last backup?” hopeful faces turn to panic. Sure there are recovery options, but it can cost over $1,000 to rebuild a dead hard drive.
The good news is there are many inexpensive ways to archive your data. For home or small businesses, there is built-in software on your Windows PC or MAC. Both Microsoft Windows Backup utility and MAC “Time Machine” offer easy to use backup capabilities to archive files on an external hard drive.
Another option is to use a backup service to save, encrypt and store your files safely on a remotely located secure server. Larger businesses with special requirements, such as Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange or legacy software applications may require a more complex back up solution. We can recommend a solution that meets your needs and budget.
A little bit of planning can mean smiles when we ask, “When was your last back up?”
